Corona pushed back Jammu University, new courses could not start, no new departments opened

Corona has pushed back many important developmental projects of higher education. Far from starting new courses at Jammu University, admissions to postgraduate courses are delayed by seven months.

Although the highest body council of the university had approved the introduction of new departments and new courses, it was not possible to implement them due to the situation arising out of Corona.

The Research Cluster, Department of Journalism and Media Studies, was to be set up at Jammu University this year. In addition to starting a one-year diploma course in musicology and conservation, there are also proposals for starting a two-year executive MBA in business school.
