Shopian Encounter: Four LEM / LeT terrorists killed, one jawan injured in Shopian encounter.

The security forces killed four militants in an encounter between security forces and militants in Manihal village of Imam Sahib area of ​​south Kashmir’s district Shopian, which started on Monday.

The four slain terrorists have been identified. These include Aamir Sharif resident Batapora, Rais Ahmed Bhat resident DKpora Shopian, Aaqib Malik resident Arshipora Shopian while the fourth has been identified as Altaf Ahmed Wani.

They belonged to Lashkar-e-Mustafa (LEM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). All of them were missing from their homes for the last six months.

A large number of arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the site of the encounter. During this time some houses have also been damaged.

After conducting a search operation in the area, the security forces announced the termination of the operation on confirmation that no other terrorists were present.

A young man has also been injured in the encounter who has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

According to the information received from the police, they were informed about the presence of terrorists in the area last Sunday night.

Based on the information, a joint team of SOG of Police, 34 RR of Army, and 178 battalions of CRPF started the siege of the village in the night itself.

This morning when the security forces started a search operation in the village, the terrorists hiding in a house started firing bullets upon seeing them near them.

In retaliation, the security forces repeatedly asked the surrendered militants to surrender but the militants continued to open fire. One by one the security forces killed three terrorists.

Meanwhile, a terrorist escaped towards the forest. The militants hiding under the cover of trees were also soon found by the security forces. He was once again given the opportunity to surrender but started firing on the security forces.

Around 8:30 in the morning, the fourth terrorist was also killed by the security forces. After the four terrorists piled up, the security forces once again conducted a search operation in the area.

When it was ensured that no more terrorists were present in the area, the operation was called off. An army soldier was also injured during the encounter, who has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The four slain terrorists have been identified. These include Aamir Sharif resident Batapora, Rais Ahmed Bhat resident DKpora Shopian.

Aqib Malik resident Arshipora Shopian while the fourth has been identified as Altaf Ahmed Wani. They belonged to Lashkar-e-Mustafa and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
