Kashmiri Pandits today took out a procession from Lal Chowk on the occasion of Shree Krishna Janmashtami which passed through major markets in Srinagar city.

During this, tight security arrangements were made. The local people also welcomed the Shobha Yatra and called it a good sign for the new Kashmir.

In this procession, the followers of Hare Rama Hare Krishna Sanstha, praising Lord Krishna, made the atmosphere devotional throughout Kashmir.

The people present there wholeheartedly welcomed Lord Krishna’s procession through every market in Kashmir.

Kashmiri Pandit Rakesh Raina said that he considers himself very fortunate to be a part of the Shobha Yatra today. Of late, the atmosphere is slowly changing in Kashmir.

The procession started from the Ganpathiyar temple at Habbakadal in Srinagar and culminated through all the major markets of the city.

After two years in Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandits have taken out a procession of Lord Krishna from the Ganpathiyar temple.

Rakesh Raina said that this time the crowd is less as compared to the procession taken out in the year 2018.

In the year 2019, the procession was not taken out due to the restrictions of curfew, whereas last year there was a ban on taking out the procession due to corona infection.

Since this time a limited number of processions have been allowed only after fully following the SOP of Covid.
