Simranjeet and Jasmin reached the finals, Mary Kom gets the bronze medal

World bronze medalist Simranjit Kaur (60 kg) made it to the finals of the ongoing 35th Boksam International boxing tournament in Castellón, Spain.

But six-time world champion MC Mary Kom (51 kg) won in a tight semi-final on Friday in Virginia, USA. After losing to Fuchs, he had to be content with the bronze medal.

On the other hand, boxer Jasmin (57 kg), making her debut with Simranjeet, defeated Italy’s Siren Charabi to advance to the finals. Simranjeet defeated Kiriya Tapia of Puerto Rico.

Both were split decisions. Apart from them, Asian champion Pooja Rani (75 kg) also reached the finals. He defeated Athena Baylon of Panama.

Earlier, six Indian male boxers would play their respective matches to make it to the finals. Satish Kumar (over 91kg), who made it to the Olympics, Sumit Sangwan (81kg) along with Ashish Kumar (75kg) made it to the semi-finals after registering an impressive win.

Satish defeated Givskov Nielsen of Denmark 5–0 in the quarter-finals while Ashish beat Remo Salvati of Italy 4–1 to enter the medal round. Sumit Sangwan defeated Mohor Al Ziyad of Belgium 4–1.

Boxers from 17 countries including Russia, the USA, Italy, and Kazakhstan are participating in this competition.

Indian wrestlers won three bronze medals.

Indian wrestlers (Greco Roman) won three bronze medals despite disappointing performances on the first day of the ongoing World Ranking Series in Rome, Italy.

Arjun Halkurki, Naveen and Neeraj won bronze medals till late on Thursday night. At the same time, world fourth-ranked wrestler Sunil Kumar was out in the first match after losing in the first two minutes.

Apart from this, Manish, Dipanshu, and Gaurav also disappointed. On the second day of the series, Indian women wrestlers were pitted against Sarita More, Anshu, Nisha, Kiran, and Anita.

Playing in 57 kg, Sarita Mor won both her opening matches and reached the final, and confirmed the medal.

Apart from this, Anshu and Nisha remained in the medal race by winning in repechages. At the same time, Anita and Kiran were eliminated from the series.

At the same time, Sarita will face the Brazilian wrestler in the final. Sakshi Malik due to fever and Sonam Malik did not make it to the series due to injury.
