Meanwhile, according to local media reports, at least six alleged terrorists have been killed in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
These terrorists were killed in an operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Eastern Bypass area of the provincial capital Quetta.
ARY News on Sunday, quoting CTD, reported that six alleged terrorists of a banned outfit were gunned down by security forces during a raid.
Weapons and explosives were recovered.
Weapons and explosive material have also been recovered by the security forces from the terrorist hideout.
One of the alleged terrorists had a bounty of Rs 20 lakh on his head, the statement said.
Earlier on Saturday, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with the police in Pakistan’s north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
CTP officials said that it launched an operation on an intelligence input in the early hours of Saturday. During the operation, the terrorists opened fire on the CTD personnel, which was retaliated strongly.
Last year 16 terrorists were killed.
In Balochistan last year also 16 terrorists were killed by security forces in an operation. Two soldiers were also killed in that operation.
This action was taken on banned separatist organizations. This operation was carried out in the Mastung area of Balochistan province.
During this incident, the terrorists opened fire on the police after which retaliatory action was taken. Nine Kalashnikov rifles, explosives, and rocket-fired grenades were recovered after the encounter.
Snowfall wreaks havoc in Pakistan, death toll reaches 23.
