Under this, the government is installing digital satellite phones. In such a situation, soon soldiers will be able to do video calling with their family.

Actually, the government plans to install digital mobile phone terminals at 1409 places. Till now it has been installed in 200 places. Out of this, 183 have been operational. At the same time, the government has provided the necessary equipment to install digital mobile terminals at 763 places.

Army personnel is being provided at a cheaper rate to talk through digital satellite phones on the Jammu and Kashmir border. The government says that army personnel will have to pay a call fee at the rate of Re 1 per minute.

Army’s permission required for video call

During the deployment at the border, the soldiers will also be able to talk with their families on video calls. But for this, the army has to decide the rules whether it provides video call facility to its soldiers for security reasons or not. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told media that video calls will be available at all places, but the final decision will be made by the Army.
