Sri Lankan Navy Arrested 16 Fishermen From Rameswaram

Sri Lankan Navy arrested 16 fishermen from Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, three boats were also detained.

Sri Lankan Navy has apprehended 16 fishermen from Tamil Nadu.

According to the Q Branch police, two fishermen and three boats from Rameswaram have been apprehended by the Sri Lankan Navy at 2 pm on Monday-Tuesday.

Let us tell you that many such incidents have come to the fore, in which such action has been taken by Sri Lanka.

The Tamil Nadu government had also once urged the Center to talk to Sri Lanka to rescue the fishermen. Many Indian fishermen are imprisoned near Sri Lanka.

Political parties taking advantage of the ‘hijab’ issue for assembly elections 2023: HD Deve Gowda

The hijab controversy in Karnataka’s Udupi district is catching on. It has now become a big issue in political circles as well.

A statement of former Prime Minister and Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) President HD Deve Gowda surfaced on Monday.

He said political parties in Karnataka are taking advantage of the ‘hijab’ issue for the 2023 assembly elections.

Let us tell you that there is already a hijab controversy going on in Karnataka regarding Muslim girl students.

The whole episode started when girls were stopped from wearing hijab in schools and colleges in Kundapur in the Udupi district.

JDS President HD Deve Gowda said-

Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) President HD Deve Gowda told the news agency  on Monday, “There are some elements which are misleading the students and political parties are taking advantage of the 2023 elections.”

The government can stop it. Such issues divide the country.

When did the ‘hijab controversy’ start?

The protest against the hijab began on February 4 at the Government Girls PU College in Udupi district after five girls were barred from wearing hijabs in class.

The girl students alleged that they were barred from attending classes for wearing a hijab (a head covering worn by Muslim women).

A petition was filed by these girls in the Karnataka High Court, which is to be heard on February 8.
