Stalin presented the claim to form the government in Tamil Nadu after meeting the governor, who will take the oath of the post of Chief Minister on May 7 at 9 am.
DMK President MK Stalin, who had won the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, met Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Wednesday to stake a claim to form the government.
A day before this, he has been unanimously elected as the leader of the Legislature Party. MK Stalin presented the claim in front of the governor to form the government.
The DMK has issued a release saying that Stalin met Purohit along with senior party leaders and general secretary Duraimurugan.
He was given a letter claiming to be elected as the leader of the DMK Legislature Party, claiming to form the government.
DMK Treasurer TR Balu, Principal Secretary KN Nehru, and Organization Secretary RS Bharti were also present with Stalin.

The DMK-led coalition won the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, which were held on 6 April. DMK won 133 seats and coalition parties won two seats each from Congress (18), VCK (4), and two Left parties.
