Strategy to deal with drone attacks should be implemented at the ground level: Sinha

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha took stock of the entire state’s internal and external security scenario in a meeting of the Integrated Headquarters on Thursday.

He stressed keeping the anti-infiltration mechanism completely strong, completely checking the recruitment of new terrorists.

Also protecting the life and property of the common people while directing action against the anti-national elements with a pro-active approach.

While reviewing the strategy to deal with the threat of drone strikes, the Lt Governor asked for its full implementation.

However, the Raj Bhavan or the State Public Relations Department officially issued no official statement regarding this meeting.

Sources said this was the first meeting of the Integrated Headquarters after the capital was shifted to Srinagar this year.

In this, senior officers of various central paramilitary forces including Director General of Police, ADG CID, IGP Kashmir Range, Corps Commander.

AOC Air Force, BSF, and CRPF, senior officers of central intelligence agencies, besides the State Home Secretary participated.

Jammu Drone Attack: Sources said that Jammu and Kashmir’s current internal and external security scenario was discussed in detail in this meeting.

All the concerned officers have given their jurisdiction over the terrorists operating in Jammu and Kashmir.

Their activities, methods of recruitment of terrorists, propaganda by anti-national elements on internet media, terrorist infrastructure across the border.

Also the prevailing situation along the LoC and International Border. 

He also discussed the operations being conducted against the terrorists and the strategy to stop the recruitment of new terrorists.

He said that in the meeting, the most discussed points related to the recent drone attack in Jammu.

The concerned officials also apprised the Lieutenant Governor about the progress of the investigation of this attack.

The Lieutenant Governor also took stock of the ongoing action to prevent such attacks in the future.

Also to install anti-drone systems at all important installations and said that there should not be any kind of fear or insecurity among the common people.

SOPs to deal with drone strikes should be implemented at the ground level.

During this, the Lieutenant Governor directed strict monitoring and strict action against terrorists and separatists, and anti-national elements and said that the situation is improving rapidly.

The influx of tourists has started. The fear of terrorists has ended among the people.

In such a situation, terrorists can try to carry out a major incident, so any of their plans should be worked out with a strategy to thwart them with a proactive approach.
