Student murdered in Andhra Pradesh, youth attacked with a knife; accused arrested.

The murder of a third-year engineering student in Guntur city of Andhra Pradesh by a knife in broad daylight created an uproar.

State Home Minister M. Sucharita reached the government hospital where the girl’s body was taken. The Home Minister condoled the incident.

Later in the night, Director General of Police of the state DG Swang said that the accused has been arrested.

“The local people provided important leads which led to the arrest of the accused,” the DGP said. Along with this, the CCTV camera footage helped us to identify the accused.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased student. He has asked the officials concerned to take care of his family.

According to the police, the student was passing through Kakani Road when a youth riding a bike approached her. He asked the girl to sit on his bike which the girl turned down.

After this, a quarrel started between the two. After this, the youth took out the knife and fled after stabbing the girl in the neck and stomach.

Locals rushed to the hospital and took the girl, covered in blood, to the hospital where she died.

TDP general secretary and MLA Nara Lokesh has said that the Dalit girl student was murdered when the Chief Minister was on his way to address an Independence Day function.

Jana Sena Chief K. Pawan Kalyan has said that the killing of an engineering student is sad.

The continuation of such incidents on girl students and women shows the failure of the government to check the criminals.

Vizhinjam Arms Case: NIA raids seven locations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, many documents and devices were found.

In the Vizhinjam arms case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday raided seven locations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The agency is suspected of smuggling arms and drugs from Iran and Pakistan to Sri Lanka. These bases are in Chennai and Tiruvallur in Tamil Nadu and Ernakulam in Kerala.

The case was registered in January 2021.

During the raid, the NIA found several papers, including books related to Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, LTTE, seven digital devices, mobile phone SIM cards, and tablets.

A case was registered against 6 Sri Lankan nationals under the Arms Act at Vizhinjam police station in Thiruvananthapuram district on 5 April.

They were arrested by the Coast Guard on March 18 this year while patrolling the Vizhinjam coast with 300 kg heroin, 5 AK-47s, and 1000 rounds of bullets.

The NIA again registered this case on May 1 under the Arms Act 1959. During the investigation, on August 2, the NIA arrested two accused Suresh and Soundarajan.
