Students Wearing Hijab Will Not Be Able To Appear In PUC Exam

Students wearing hijab will not be able to appear in the second PUC exam, Karnataka Education Minister’s strong warning.

The noise on the issue of hijab in Karnataka has not stopped till now. In this sequence, the education minister of the state has given a stern warning to those wearing hijab.

The education minister has said that those wearing hijab will be kept away from upcoming examinations.

He has given clear instructions for this. State Education Minister BC Nagesh has said that girl students will not be allowed to wear hijab in the annual second PUC (Pre University Certificate) examination.

All the students have to follow all the uniform rules, otherwise, they will not be allowed to appear in the examination.

Karnataka Education Minister Nagesh on Tuesday said that after successfully conducting the Class X board examination (SSLC) in the state amid the hijab controversy.

The Karnataka government will now conduct the annual second PUC (Pre University Certificate) examination in the state from April 22 to May 18.

Fully ready to deliver. 6,84,255 students have registered for this exam. All security arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of these examinations.

According to the Education Department, the examination will be conducted at 1076 centers in the state. A total of 3,46,936 boys and 3,37,319 girls will take part in these exams.

The practical examinations will be conducted at 1030 centers. Students will not be allowed to carry mobiles inside the examination hall.

The inspectors will not be allowed to use phones with mobile cameras. They have been allowed to use basic phones in the examination centers.

Along with this, there will be strict police arrangements at all the examination centers with full precaution.

Areas falling within 200 meters of the examination center will be declared prohibited areas.

It is noteworthy that recently, a special division bench of the Karnataka High Court, headed by Chief Justice Rituraj Awasthi, dismissed the petition of the students demanding hijab in the classroom.

The bench also observed that the hijab was not an essential statute of Islam.

It is noteworthy that this petition was filed by six students of Udupi and on their own debut, the issue of hijab had gained momentum across the country including Karnataka.
