Successful Test Of Most Modern Anti-Tank Missiles

Successful test of most modern anti-tank missiles- Helina and Dhruvastra, know-how deadly are these weapons.

India on Friday successfully test-fired most indigenously built anti-tank missiles – Helina and Dhruvastra. Officials said that these missiles would be inducted into the Army and Air Force respectively.

The Ministry of Defense has named these missiles as one of the most modern anti-tank weapons in the world. These missiles were tested in the Pokhran deserts of Rajasthan.

The statement issued by the Ministry of Defense said that the missile system has the capability to operate in all weather during the day and night. It can also destroy explosive targets with conventional armored.

Five tests were conducted to evaluate the minimum and maximum capacity of the missile. The Ministry of Defense said the missile was targeted at stationary and moving targets.

Some of the tests also included war weapons. In a test, a flying helicopter targeted a moving target. Helina and Dhruvastra are third-generation anti-tank guided missiles.

The ministry said that both missiles were also tested from the advanced light helicopter platform. Both these missiles have been developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization, DRDO.

The ‘Helina’ missile is capable of penetrating targets up to a distance of 7-8 kilometers. ‘Helina’ is the helicopter-fired form of the Antitank Guided Missile ‘Nag’.

Successful test of most modern anti-tank missiles: The ‘Helina’ was tested by an Army helicopter. This missile is guided by Infrared Imaging Seeker (IIR). This missile is built entirely with indigenous technology.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday handed over the advanced class indigenous Arjun tank MK-1A tank to the army in Chennai.

This tank is completely indigenous. Work from its design to development and manufacturing has been done in the country itself.

It has been built by the Defense Research and Development Organization, ie, DRDO’s Chennai-based Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment.
