The Supreme Court has ordered the immediate release of political activist Erandro Leichombam from custody under Rasuka.

Against whom a case was registered, it was alleged that Manipur BJP President S Tikendra Singh’s comment was made through his Facebook post as a criticism in the context of death due to COVID-19.

Manipur BJP President S Tikendra Singh was seriously infected with the coronavirus and after that S Tikendra Singh died due to a corona infection.

Just after whose death, on May 13, a Manipur political activist, Erandro Lechombam, posted on his social media handle Facebook, writing that ‘cow dung and cow urine do not work, rest in peace.

Taking it as a personal and traditional insult, Manipur BJP state general secretary P. Premanand Meitei and state vice-president Usham Deben Singh filed the case.

After which Manipur political activist Erandro Lechombam was detained under the National Security Act (NSA).

Against which a petition was filed in the Supreme Court by the father of activist Erandro Lechombaum.

Supreme Court ordered the release.

The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the release of Manipur activist Erandro Leichombam from the entire case.

The Supreme Court ordered that Manipur political activist Erandro Lechombam should be released by 5 pm on Monday.

At the same time, while ordering the immediate release of Erandro Lechombam, the apex court said that Erandro’s continued detention is violative of Article 21 of the Constitution.

Chief Minister Sarma said – the annual illegal business of five thousand crores of drugs in Assam.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that the illegal drug trade in the state is worth more than five thousand crore rupees every year.

He asked the police to launch an effective campaign against drugs.

He also directed the Health and Social Welfare Department to work together on this issue, emphasizing on proper rehabilitation of drug addicts.

CM said- drugs worth 163 crores were seized between May 10 and July 15.

During a function organized to mark the destruction of confiscated drugs at Berhampur in Nagaon district, the CM said, “Drugs worth more than Rs 163 crore were seized between May 10 and July 15.

If this is 20 percent of the drug smuggling from the state every month, then its annual illegal business in Assam becomes more than five thousand crore rupees.
