Supreme Court seeks response from CBI on bail plea of main accused Indrani Mukerjea: Sheena Bora murder case.

The Supreme Court today issued notice to the CBI on the bail plea of Indrani Mukerjea, the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case.

The Supreme Court has sought a response from the CBI on this matter.

Let us inform you that Indrani Mukerjea, who is in judicial custody of the special CBI court, has filed a bail petition in the Supreme Court.

Earlier, Indrani Mukerjea could not get bail from the Bombay High Court.

Indrani Mukerjea has been lodged in the Byculla Women’s Prison in Mumbai since her arrest in August 2015.

Earlier, the special CBI court had refused bail to Indrani several times. The CBI has been probing the case since 2012.

Let us inform you that Indrani Mukerjea is going on trial since April 24, 2012, for the murder of her daughter Sheena.

Indrani is alleged to have strangled Sheena to death and buried the body in a forest in the Raigad district. The investigating agencies claimed that they had also found the remains of Sheena Bora.

Indrani claims her daughter is alive.

Indrani Mukherjee surprised everyone by making a new claim in this case only last month.

Her lawyer has written a letter to the Director of CBI saying that Sheena is alive and has also appealed to the agency to search for Sheena in Kashmir.

Mukherjee had claimed that a government official told her that he had seen Bora while she was being vaccinated in Srinagar.
