T20 World Cup 2021: Sri Lanka beat Namibia by 7 wickets

T20 World Cup 2021: Sri Lanka beat Namibia in a one-sided match, beat by 7 wickets.

In the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, the former champion Sri Lanka has been forced to play the qualifiers.

Due to the decline in their game over the years, the team is challenging to reach the main 12 teams by winning the qualifiers.

In the first-round match against Namibia, Sri Lanka won on the basis of excellent bowling and excellent batting.

Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and called for Namibia to bat.

The batsmen of the team could not stand in front of the tight bowling of the experienced team and in 19.3 overs, the entire team was reduced to just 96 runs before 100.

In reply, Sri Lanka achieved the target of victory in 13.3 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

Avishka Fernando’s 30 not out for Sri Lanka while Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s unbeaten innings of 42 runs took the team to victory.

Before the T20 World Cup, England got a big setback, this player may be out of the first match.

Warm-up matches are being played before the T20 World Cup 2021 to give the teams a chance to prepare well for the tournament.

However, in the midst of these preparations, the England team has suffered a major setback.

Team all-rounder Liam Livingstone has been injured during the warm-up match against India and it has become difficult for him to play for England in the first match.

Teammate Moeen Ali has also accepted this fact.

Actually, in the 16th over of the warm-up match against India, Ishan Kishan tried to fire in the air and the ball went to deep mid-wicket, where Liam Livingstone was under the ball.

Liam Livingstone could have easily caught the ball, but a miss judgment caused the ball to hit his finger and he looked in pain.

Immediately Physio came to the field and took him off the field. This injury of Livingstone now remains a cause of concern for England.

According to Cricinfo, a spokesman for the England camp has said that Livingstone’s injury assessment will be done in the next 24 hours.

The batsman is unlikely to feature in the team’s next warm-up match against New Zealand on Wednesday.

England all-rounder Moeen Ali said Livingstone was fine but admitted the injury was “a bit intimidating” for the team.

Moeen said, “I think he is fine. I think it just hurt on the back of the arm, but I think he will be fine. Obviously, it was a little scary at the time, but He said it was fine, so hopefully, all is well.”

The England team has to play the first match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 against the defending champions West Indies on 23 October.

However, the chances of Liam Livingstone playing in this match are very less. If his injury is not too serious, then he can go into the second match for England again. However, nothing is clear yet.
