Tallest Railway Bridge: The Real Reason Why The Tallest Railway Bridge Has Only One Track Emerged

Tallest Railway Bridge: The real reason why the tallest railway bridge has only one track emerged.

India’s tallest iron bridge: India has built the tallest iron bridge in the world. Railways often share their beautiful photos.

The bridge, built across the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir, is 321 meters high. In this context, it is higher than the Eiffel Tower, a major tourist attraction in Paris.

The height of the Eiffel Tower is approximately 276 meters. Building this bridge was costly and difficult. However, despite these high costs, only one railroad was laid on the bridge.

This bridge looks very wide and it looks like you could put 2 routes on it as well, but it didn’t. Why did this happen in such a situation?

This bridge is on the Katra Banihal railway line between Katra and Banihal. By itself, its manufacture was a very complex process. So it took many years to complete it.

Looking at this bridge from above, anyone will say that it is very wide and allows you to conveniently place two tracks.

However, according to the report, there are three main reasons for not double tracking. These reasons are tourism, repair, and train traffic. why don’t you put another line?

This bridge is so tall that it will be very difficult to get to with your items during repairs unless there is a lot of space left on either side of the track.

There isn’t a lot of room near the track, so I had to keep lifting it from bottom to top because there wasn’t much room to store my luggage. But that won’t be a problem anymore.

It is also the highest railway bridge in the world, located between beautiful plains, so tourism here will surely grow.

A large space was needed next to the tracks for people to wander over the bridge. Third, the movement of trains on this line is not so great, so two tracks are needed.

The bridge had to be extended to double-track.

Considering all this, if the bridge had been laid on two tracks, it would have had to be widened. Height will get in the way again. A wider leg would have been unsafe at that height.

However, if a double track is laid here, the cost is further increased because the front mountain must be cut and two tracks must be laid along the line laid.
