Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister Dorikkannu Dies

Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister Dorikkannu dies due to coronavirus. A senior official of the Cauvery Hospital said late Saturday that Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister R Dorikannu had passed away.

A senior official of Kaveri Hospital said that with deep sorrow, we announce the sad demise of Agriculture Minister Thiru R. Dorikkannu. On 31.10.2020 at 11.15 pm, Arvindan Selvaraj gave this information by issuing a statement.

Earlier on Saturday, Selvaraj said Doraikannu’s health was declining, and was on maximum life support.

The 72-year-old minister, who was elected from Papanasam assembly constituency, was admitted to the hospital on 13 October with severe breathlessness and Covid-19 was tested.

Selvaraj had said that 90 percent of the lungs were included in the latest CT scan. He is currently on ECMO and ventilator.

On the morning of 13 October, Doraikannu was rushed to a hospital in Villupuram district after complaining of chest pain and shortness of breath.

Dorikkannu had complained of ill health during his visit to Salem to pay tribute to the mother of Chief Minister K Palaniswami, who died that day.

Schools to open in Tamil Nadu from 16 November, 10 theaters, know what will be the restrictions

The Tamil Nadu government has given permission for the reopening of schools, colleges, cinemas, zoos, etc. from this month, relaxing the Coronavirus restrictions.

State Chief Minister K.K. Palaniswami said in an office that all educational institutions will reopen from November 16. He informed that only classes from 9th to 12th will be conducted in schools.

The Chief Minister informed that theaters, theaters, multiplexes, and amusement parks will be reopened from November 10 with a capacity of 50 percent.

Containment zone will continue to ban

Cinema halls and multiplexes will be opened with 50 percent seats. Zoo and amusement parks will also allow only half the capacity of visitors.

The Chief Minister said that no relaxation will be given in the Containment Zone. Swimming pools, beaches, and tourist spots will remain closed for the time being.

The Chief Minister said that programs related to religious, cultural, social, political, and entertainment will also be organized from 16 November.

However, a maximum of 100 people will be allowed to participate in these events. He said that it has been decided to give this relaxation in sanctions after consultation with experts and top government officials.

Schools are being opened in Assam and Andhra Pradesh after being closed for more than seven months due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Schools in Assam will be opened from November 2 with strict guidelines.

According to Education Department officials, classes from 6th to 12th will be conducted. Sixth, eighth and 12th students will come to school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The students of seventh, ninth, and 11th will be called to the school on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

In Andhra Pradesh, a decision has been taken to open schools for students of class IX and X from November 2. Only 16 students will be allowed to attend class.
