Tamil Nadu’s Vaniyar community will not get a special reservation, SC upholds Madras High Court’s decision.

The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the Madras High Court order quashing the state quota law.

In this law, it has been said to provide a 10.5 percent special reservation to Tamil Nadu’s Vaniyar backward community.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly had passed the AIADMK party bill in February. In this, it was decided to give a 10.5% reservation internally to the Vaniyar community.

After this, the DMK government issued an order to implement it in July 2021. Under this, the 20 percent reservation given to the Most Backward Classes (MBC) was divided into three parts.

Of these, 10.5 percent was arranged for the Vaniyar community, a backward class of the state. This community was earlier known as ‘Vanniyakul Kshatriya’.

On Tuesday, the police arrested all the four accused from Bangalore in this case. The four accused are accused of gang-raping the girl in Bengaluru.

The complaint was lodged by the victim.

The rape victim works in a private company. The girl had given her complaint to the Sanjay Nagar police in Bangalore. DCP North Vinayak Patil has given information about this.

He told that a case was registered last week regarding the matter. The accused have been identified as Rajat, Shivaran, Dev Saroi, and Yogesh Kumar. All the accused are residents of Delhi.

Police said that the rape victim had become friends with the accused Rajat on the dating app. Both had also exchanged mobile numbers with each other.

According to the police, the victim told in her complaint that Rajat had invited her to his house on the pretext of a party. The victim stayed at Rajat’s house.

While there Rajat and his three friends raped the girl. Following the complaint of the woman, the police arrested the accused.
