Telangana minister demands amendment in IPC, CrPC Act, says criminals roaming outside due to flaws in the act: Jubilee Hills Case.

Rama Rao tweeted, “Due to the loopholes in the Juvenile Justice Act, the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), rape convicts get bail and are also free in heinous crimes.

Therefore, I demand that these Acts be amended so that the convicts sentenced to life imprisonment cannot get bail.

Earlier, the minister sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention, criticizing the release of 11 people sentenced to life imprisonment in the Bilkis Bano gang rape case.

He had asked for quashing the Gujarat government’s decision to exempt the convicts.

Let us inform you that 11 prisoners serving a life sentence in the 2002 Bilkis Bano gang rape case during the Gujarat riots were released from jail on Independence Day.

All the convicts were lodged in the Godhra sub-jail. The convicts were released under the amnesty scheme of the Gujarat government.

A special CBI court in Mumbai sentenced 11 convicts to life imprisonment on January 21, 2008, for the gang rape and murder of seven members of Bilkis Bano’s family.

According to the information, on May 28, a minor girl was gang-raped while returning home from a party in Jubilee Hills, in which the police arrested six accused, but all are out on bail at the moment.
