According to the police, 11 people detained from Assam’s Morigaon, Barpeta, Guwahati, and Goalpara districts have links to ‘Islamic fundamentalism’ as they are from AQIS and ABT.
Further action will be taken as per the rules.
Terror Module Linked To Al Qaeda: All those associated with the Jihadi module were arrested.
Taking a tough stand on the ‘Jihadi module’ in the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that a lot of information is expected from these arrests.
“Since yesterday till today, we have caught two jihadi modules in Barpeta and Morigaon districts of Assam and arrested all those associated with the jihadi module,” he said on Thursday.

According to the Assam Police, Mustafa alias Mufti Mustafa, who is an accused in the case, hails from Sahariya village in Morigaon district and is an active member of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).
This organization is linked to Al Qaeda in the Indian subcontinent. It is an important financial medium for the ABT module in India.
Police sealed the madrasa.
Police said Mustafa Sahariya runs a madrasa in the village, which has been sealed by the police after suspecting it to be a harbor or safe haven for those detained.
According to the police, ‘the activities of the madrassa were being funded through the proceeds of illegal activities. The madrassa is suspected to be a safe house for the detained persons.
Apart from Mustafa, the police have arrested 39-year-old Afsaruddin Bhuiyan from Morigaon.
The police have arrested 22-year-old Abbas Ali, a resident of Goalpara.
According to the police, ‘he provided logistics and shelter to Mehboob Rahman, one of the absconding members.’
Mehboob Rehman alias Mehboob wanted in the Jogighopa police station case, is also a member of the Ansarullah Bangla Team, which was arrested by the Bongaigaon police team on July 26.
These terrorists were also arrested.
Others arrested are Zubair Khan (25), Rafikul Islam (27), Diwan Hamidul Islam (20), Moinul Haque (42), Qazibur Hussain (37), Mujibaur Rehman (50), Shahnoor Aslam and Sahjan Ali (34). ) Huh.
Barpeta Police has arrested eight people for having links with AQIS and ABT.
A case (No- 763/22) has been registered at Barpeta Police Station under section 17/18/18(B)/19/20 UA(P) Act 1967 along with section 120(B)/121/121(A) has gone.
Electronic equipment and incriminating documents were recovered.
The police have seized several electronic devices and incriminating documents from the detainees. Further investigation and action are on to ascertain the links and networks.
