Terror Funding: Watali gets relief from the High Court, the court said – there is no ban on the sale and purchase of property that is not attached.

The J&K High Court has given an important decision on the property of Zahoor Ahmed Shah Watali, a prominent businessman of Kashmir and director of Triton Farmers and Construction Company.

The High Court has said that the property which has not been attached by the Enforcement Directorate, cannot be banned. Watali is accused of hawala business.

In fact, the Assistant Director of Enforcement Directorate had sent a letter to the Narbal Tehsildar of Budgam, asking that no copy of land records of any property of the company be issued.

Watali’s wife Sarva Begum, who is a director in the company, challenged this in the High Court, saying that the Enforcement Directorate has attached some assets.

Therefore, the management of the company has full rights over the remaining property and there should be no outside interference in it and the business of the said land should be allowed.
