Terrorist module busted by Punjab Police, a Grenade attack was done in CIA staff office of Nawanshahr from Pakistan.
In connection with the grenade blast at the CIA staff office here late last year, the Punjab Police has busted a terrorist module operating from Pakistan.
Police have arrested three youths. According to DGP VK Bhavra, this terrorist network was being run by Harvinder Singh alias Rinda, living in Pakistan. All three used to work at his behest.
He said that some unidentified persons threw grenades at the CIA office on the intervening night of November 7 and 8, 2021 to kill the officers and employees of the CIA staff.
The glass windows of the rooms were broken in the bomb blast and the water cooler was uprooted and fell on one side. There was no casualty in this attack.
The arrested person has been identified as Manish Kumar alias Mani alias Baba, a resident of Bainsan village in Nawanshahr.
Ramandeep Singh alias Jakhu, a resident of village Atta, Goraya in Jalandhar district, and Pradeep Singh alias Bhatti, a resident of Sahalon village, SBS Nagar.
Police also recovered a live hand grenade from the possession of the accused.
DGP VK Bhavra said that after a comprehensive investigation, the Counter Intelligence Wing and SBS Nagar Police have succeeded in arresting the three accused involved in the attack.
The DGP said that during interrogation, Ramandeep confessed that he along with Manish had hurled grenades at the Nawanshahr CIA office on the instructions of Harvinder Singh alias Rinda.
While Ramandeep picked up two grenades from someplace in Ludhiana-Firozpur.
Rinda did the deal of attack for four lakh rupees.
SSP Sandeep Kumar said that on the disclosure of Ramandeep, a hand grenade was used for the attack in Nawanshahr, while another P-80 hand grenade was used to carry out the attack has been recovered.
He said that Harvinder alias Rinda had made a deal of Rs 4 lakh with Ramandeep to carry out this attack.
Rinda is wanted in many cases.
Harvinder Singh alias Rinda is a notorious gangster and history-sheeter operating in Punjab, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, and Haryana.
He is wanted by the Punjab Police in heinous crimes including murder, contract killing, dacoity, extortion, and snatching.
Police have also named Harvinder Singh alias Rinda as accused in this case and added section 13/16/17/18/18-B/20 in the FIR dated November 8, 2021, which is at Police Station City Nawanshahr.
It is registered under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act and Sections 307, 427, and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
