The CBI Argued For The 1994 ISRO Espionage Case In SC

The CBI argued for the 1994 ISRO espionage case in the Supreme Court. There is a possibility of a big conspiracy at the behest of foreigners in the ISRO espionage case.

The CBI on Monday expressed apprehension in the Supreme Court that the involvement of foreigners in the 1994 ISRO espionage case could lead to a bigger conspiracy.

The probe agency said scientist Nambi Narayanan was allegedly implicated in the case by the Kerala Police.

Due to which the technology to develop the cryogenic engine was affected and the country’s space program went back by at least a decade or two.

CBI argued.

The CBI made these arguments despite the Supreme Court agreeing on a plea challenging the Kerala High Court’s order granting anticipatory bail to four people, including the former DGP, in this case.

The petition was heard by a bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice CT Ravikumar, which issued notice and adjourned the matter till November 29.

The investigation may derail.

On August 13, the High Court ordered the four accused former Gujarat DGP RB Sreekumar, two former Kerala Police officers S. Vijayan and Thampi S. Durga Dutta, and retired intelligence officer PS Jaiprakash were granted anticipatory bail.

Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, appearing for the CBI, said the grant of anticipatory bail may derail the investigation in the case.

He said that the CBI has come to know in its investigation that some scientists were allegedly tortured and implicated in the case.

Agrees to hear TC’s plea on the situation in Tripura.

The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear the Trinamool Congress’s contempt petition which has claimed that the law and order situation in Tripura is deteriorating.

The top court will hear the petition on Tuesday. On November 11, the top court had directed the Tripura Police to ensure that no political party is denied its right to campaign.

Hearing on November 26 against the order of Kolkata High Court.

The Supreme Court on Monday said it will hear on November 26 the Centre’s plea challenging the order of the Kolkata High Court.

The HC had set aside the order of a principal bench of the CAT allowing the transfer of former Bengal chief secretary Alapan Bandopadhyay’s application from Kolkata to New Delhi.

Alapan had challenged the proceedings initiated against him by the central government.
