Dindigul, Perambalur, Theni, Thirupathur, Tuticorin, and Virudhunagar reported only one case each on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Medical and Family Welfare Minister Subramaniam said the government plans to increase the total number of vaccinations per day in September from the current five lakh vaccines to around six to seven lakh per day.

He said that the department has advised the district administration to further increase the number of vaccinations given to the people daily in their respective districts.

School Reopening: Schools open from today in these states of the country.

Schools in Tamilnadu.

Classes, colleges, and polytechnics will reopen for classes 9 to 12 in Tamil Nadu from today. Chief Minister MK Stalin had announced this on Monday.

As per the new rules of the state government, college and school students (classes 9 to 12) can travel free of cost to their institutions in Tamil Nadu in Transport Corporation buses from September 1.

Schools in Telangana.

The state government has directed the reopening of classes in all educational institutions including schools, colleges, and coaching centers from September 1. Schools will reopen today for all classes.

Puducherry Schools.

Schools in Puducherry will resume from September 1 with 50 percent capacity for classes 9 to 12. Here classes will be conducted in two shifts in the schools alternately morning and evening.
