The Indian Army to stay at LAC in winter, Amid heavy tensions with China. Amid heavy tension with China, the Indian army has made full preparations to stand on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh even in the coming winter season.

To protect against severe cold, all essential items such as heat-keeping equipment, clothes, and tents to ration, fuel, and ammunition have been transported in sufficient quantities to the Army’s advance posts at LAC.

16 Corps has responsibility for border security

Major General Arvind Kapoor, Chief of Staff of the 16 Corps, also known as the Fire and Fury Corps, said that all preparations have been made as per the winter season. The same unit of the army has the responsibility of protecting the border between China and Pakistan from Kargil to Ladakh.

He said that everything from logistics to arms and ammunition has been stored in sufficient quantity.

Major General Kapoor said- The highway in the Ladakh region remains closed for six months in the winter season.

Major General Kapoor said that the Ladakh region is connected to the two main highways Manali-Leh and Jammu-Srinagar-Leh. It remains closed for six months during the winter season. The army has reduced this period to four months.

In the coming days, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the Atal Tunnel and the Darcha-Neemu-Padam road is also going to be operational. This will keep Ladakh in touch in all seasons.
