In this sequence, on Friday, a terrorist group attacked a mosque in Kunduz, Afghanistan, in which more than 100 people are reported to be killed.

UNSC condemns attack on a mosque in Afghanistan, says need to bring criminals to justice

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has condemned the attack on a Shia mosque in Afghanistan.

Condemning the deadly attack in northern Kunduz province the previous day, the council said there was a need to hold the perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and sponsors of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice.

The members of the Security Council made this statement strongly condemning the dastardly and cowardly terrorist attack in Kunduz, Afghanistan on 8 October 2021.

The United Nations Security Council expressed its deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims of this attack and wished the injured a speedy and full recovery.

Security Council members reiterated that terrorism is one of the most serious threats to international peace and security.

Let us inform you that the terrorist group Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the bombing inside the mosque in Kunduz city of Afghanistan.

80 people were killed and hundreds were injured in this attack.

A large number of Shia Muslims living in the area had come to the mosque to offer prayers when the blast took place on Friday afternoon.

After the loud explosion, the mosque was filled with smoke and there was an outcry.

When the surrounding people reached inside the mosque after the smoke had cleared, human parts were scattered on the blood-stained earth, all the injured were calling people for help.
