The Federal Hatch Act of 1939 is an act involving federal employees. It aims to keep federal employees away from political activities. However, the provisions of this Act do not apply to the President and the Vice President.
The Democratic Party alleges that Trump used inappropriate campaigning for administration officials. Democratic lawmakers also wrote a letter to the Special Counsel regarding this. These people have demanded an independent inquiry into the matter.
In this letter, concern has been expressed by President Trump and some senior officials of his administration over the violation of the Federal Hatch Acts. It added that Trump delivered his acceptance speech at the White House for the presidential nomination. During this time Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf was also present in this video.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also addressed the conference during a video link to the White House during his official visit to Israel. Many officials of the Trump administration used the White House to speak at the conference.
The letter expresses concern that the administration staff is under pressure. They are under pressure to organize the elections. They are being forcibly violated by the law. In the past week, employees have faced serious consequences for this. In this regard, one person of the Department of Energy had to resign and one was suspended for 30 days.
