Deborah Lyons, the UN Special Envoy for Afghanistan, has given this information to the Security Council. She has told that from 10 to 25 August such incidents have increased significantly.

Lyons told the Security Council that UN Afghan staff are working to carry out their work in extremely difficult conditions.

However, she also said that the United Nations is facing a lot of difficulties in carrying out its work. Personally speaking, the lives of Afghans working there are in danger.

She told the United Nations that a few days before the Taliban’s arrival in Kabul and a few days after the situation had changed significantly.

Incidents of threatening and abusing employees have increased rapidly. After the capture of the Taliban, the United Nations office was even looted and the employees present there were even beaten up.

They were threatened with death.

Lyons pointed out that UN personnel cannot move freely anywhere. According to her, the United Nations is very concerned about its security.

This is the situation when Taliban leaders are constantly saying in their statements that they will not harass anyone and will respect and protect the rights of all.

The work of the UN in Afghanistan became difficult: After the arrival of the Taliban, there have been more than a dozen incidents of threats being given by them.

US Diplomat Jeffrey de Laurentiis said that there have been many such reports and reports, in which people have been threatened by Taliban terrorists.

These incidents have not come from anyone’s place but from almost the whole of Afghanistan. Such incidents cannot be tolerated.

Lyons said that the United Nations has been viewed with respect everywhere, but in some places, exceptions have been seen.

The Taliban is also not allowing women employees working in the United Nations to enter the office.

Lyons told the UNSC that the Afghans need their help and they also want to carry out their work there in any case, but the situation is very bad. In such a situation, the employees are facing difficulty in working.
