Three People Dead, 6 Injured In An attack In Mali

Three people dead, 6 injured in attack on UN peacekeeping force in northern Mali. Three people of  UN peacekeepers from the Ivory Coast have been killed and six others injured after being attacked by unidentified gunmen in the Timbuktu region of northern Mali.

The Mali-based United Nations Mission and the Ivory Coast Army said the vehicle of the UN Peacekeeping Force was hit by IDs planted by the attackers. Under a mission called MINUSMA, it was reported that the deaths occurred on Wednesday during a security operation near Daentaja and Timbuktu, about 20 kilometers (12 mi) north of the city of Bambara-Maude.

According to the mission, the attackers fled from the scene and helicopters served as medical emergencies. Mahamat Saleh Annadif, the head of the UN mission, condemned the attack. He said that at a time when efforts are on to bring Mali in a better direction, in such attacks, I am deeply saddened by these attacks against national and international forces as well as the civilian population.

Three people dead- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the attack and said the attack on UN peacekeepers should be considered a major crime. United Nations spokesman Stephen Dujarik said, “Malian officials should quickly identify the culprits of this heinous attack and immediately punish them severely.”

Ivory Coast Army Chief of Staff General Lacina Doumbia said the three dead peacekeepers were from Ivory Coast and were attacked by extremists.

The convicted terrorists also include the spokesman of Jamad-ud-Dawa, Yahya Mujahid. The Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore has also sentenced Hafiz’s brother-in-law Abdul Rahman Makki to six months imprisonment. The court on Tuesday sentenced the anti-terrorism court to Makki (Abdul Rehman Makki).

A court official told the media that Arshad Hussain Bhutta, an anti-terrorism court judge, imprisoned each of Yahya Mujahid and Zafar Iqbal for 15 years and six months and Abdul Rahman Makki for Punjab Police.

Sentenced to six months in prison in a case filed by the Counter-Terrorism Department of India. Even before this, the court has sentenced Mujahid to 47 years imprisonment in three terror funding cases.
