Today is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Jayanti, know everything about the brave warrior: Shivaji Jayanti 2022.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born on February 19, 1630, in Shivneri fort in the state of Maharashtra. His father’s name is Shahji Bhonsle and his mother’s name is Jijabai.

Shivaji Maharaj was rich in talent since childhood. On many occasions, Shivaji Maharaj had also proved the iron of his talent. Mother Jijabai brought up Shivaji.

He also paved the way for Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji was an expert in all arts. Shivaji had acquired knowledge of war and politics in his childhood. Over time, his talent flourished.

At that time, India was ruled by the Mughals. The Marathas did not want to accept the suzerainty of the Mughals. For this, fierce battles took place many times between the Marathas and the Mughals.

Since childhood, the flame of freedom was burning in Shiva’s heart. Shivaji was married to Saibai Nimbalkar on May 14, 1640, at the age of just 10 at the Lal Mahal in Pune.

Shivaji captured all those territories during his reign. All these territories had to be given to the Mughals under the Treaty of Purundar.

At that time the Brahmins of Maharashtra refused to accept Shivaji Maharaj as the king and strongly opposed Shivaji.

After this, Balaji, the secretary of Shivaji, took the challenge of opposing the Brahmins and vowed to take oath at the hands of the Brahmins.

After this Balaji sent three messengers to a Brahmin named Gangabha. At that time Gangabha turned down Balaji’s offer. Also advised to bring Kshatriya certificate.

Somehow Balaji invited Gangaabh to come to Pune by showing a Kshatriya certificate. However, when re-examined, Gangabha was not satisfied and refused to be coronated.

In the end, somehow Gangabha agreed to do the coronation. However, the Brahmins did not accept it. His mother Jijabai died 12 days after the coronation.

For this, the coronation was done again on October 4, 1674. During his reign, Shivaji occupied Mysore, Konkan, Belgaum, Valari, Thrissur, Dharwad, and Jinji. Shivaji Maharaj died on April 4, 1680.
