The torch relay has begun amid concerns of the Coronavirus. The torch relay for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 in Japan will run for 121 days.
The event was organized with simplicity, with a presentation to a group of residents of Fukushima. The general public was not allowed to attend the Olympic torch relay ceremony due to Corona’s rescue.
Edusa Iwashimizu, a member of the 2011 Women’s Football World Cup-winning team, took the torch and began the relay from the Jay Village National Football Training Center along with 14 other team members and coach Norio Sasaki.
Tokyo Olympic torch: A few presentations were also made before the start of the Olympic Torch Tour.
Seiko Hashimoto, chair of the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, said, “Last year when the whole world was going through a difficult time, the Olympic light was burning silently but firmly.
The torch will give the Japanese hope and I pray for peace all over the world. ” The Olympic torch will go to all 47 provinces of Japan and finish its journey before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on 23 July.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said in a statement on Wednesday that the route set for the Olympic torch relay a year ago has also been adopted this time, as the Games were postponed last year.
The Olympic Torch Tour can be seen in 859 municipalities.
This would cover the majority of Japan’s population. However, people have been appealed to see the torch from a distance. Many other instructions have also been given to the people.
