Toll Plazas Will Be Closed From All The National Highways

Toll plazas will be closed from all the national highways. Central government’s big announcement, toll plazas will be eliminated from all over the country in the next two years, know how to recover.

Soon, vehicles will be able to run on the national highway without hindrance. Toll plazas will be closed from all the national highways in the country.

This information was given by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Speaking at the ASSOCHAM Foundation Week Program, the Union Minister said that the government has finalized GPS based technology toll collection to ensure free movement of vehicles across the country.

He said that this will make India ‘toll plaza free’ in the coming two years.

Toll amount will be deducted directly from a bank account

Addressing the program, the Union Minister said that the toll amount will be deducted directly from the bank account based on the movement of vehicles.

However, now all commercial vehicles are coming with a tracking system. With this, the government will come up with some plans to install GPS technology in older vehicles.

Preparation of GPS based toll recovery

Union Minister Gadkari also informed about the preparation of a GPS based system for toll collection. Russia has expertise in this matter.

In this system, the toll amount is deducted according to the distance. He said that this system will be implemented in two years.

The Union Minister also expressed confidence that the toll collection would reach the level of Rs 1.34 lakh crore in the next five years.

Gadkari also announced to implement the system of Viability Gap funding in sectors other than infrastructure.

Now, in the social sector, health, and education sector, there will also be the facility of Viability Gap funding.

FASTags reduced fuel consumption

The Union Minister said that the government is taking this special step to make free movement of vehicles across the country.

He said that in the last one year, the Central Government has made FASTags mandatory on all toll plazas in the country.

Gadkari said fuel consumption has come down following the imperative of FASTags on the National Highway toll plaza. Apart from this, pollution has also been controlled.

Speaking at the program, the Minister said that industrial development is important for job creation and poverty alleviation in India.

Although at present the industry is centralized in urban areas in India as decentralization of such industry is necessary to boost the growth rate.

Increasing urbanization is causing serious problems in cities. Such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and others. He also stressed the need to promote public-private investment in infrastructure development.

Gadkari has also expressed the need to promote public-private investment in infrastructure development.
