Trekking Banned in Jammu and Kashmir After Pahalgam Attack | Advisory Issued for Tourists

Trekking Banned in Jammu and Kashmir: After the terrorist attack in Baisaran near Pahalgam, trekking has been banned across Jammu and Kashmir. Tourists are advised to enjoy only the main tourist destinations and avoid trekking activities. Stay updated with the latest advisory!

There is information for tourists that if they are coming to visit the valley, then for now they should enjoy the natural scenery at the main tourist places only, and not go to the mountains or the tourist places located in them for trekking. Because after the terrorist incident in Baisaran, the administration has banned trekking. An administrative officer confirmed this and said that this order is for the whole of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that this step has been taken due to the recent terrorist incident in Baisaran of Pahalgam.

An operation is going on to search for terrorists

He said that the combing operation run by the security agencies to search and drive away the terrorists in the upper areas and forests of the state has been intensified.

In such a situation, the tourists and mountaineers coming to the state are informed that they should not go to the upper areas and forests for trekking, but enjoy their trip at the main tourist places only.

It should be noted that along with the tourist spots of the valley, there has been a big trend of trekking by mountaineers as well as tourists fond of trekking by going to offbeat tourist spots, mountains, and forests.

Trekking Banned in Jammu and Kashmir: A terrorist attack happened on 22nd April

Let us tell you that last Tuesday, 22nd April, terrorists attacked unarmed tourists visiting Baisaran, 5 km from Pahalgam, and massacred 26 tourists. 22 tourists were also injured in this incident. After the incident, most of the tourists who had come to visit the valley had returned home.

Now slowly the tourists have started coming again and along with Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Yusmarg, Doodhpathri etc., tourists have also started visiting Pahalgam, which is situated at a distance of 5 kms from Baisaran.
