Twenty Nine Companies Including Foxconn, Flex, Applied For PLI

Twenty nine companies including Foxconn, Flex, Jabil applied for PLI, know the reason for this interest of global companies.

Many global companies have also shown readiness to take advantage of the Production Based Incentive (PLI) being given to the telecom sector.

Official sources said that among the 29 applications filed for availing the PLI announced for the telecom sector, names of global companies such as Foxconn, Flex, JBIL Circuits, and Sunmina SCI.

These companies have applied to take advantage of the Rs 12,195 crore PLI scheme announced by the Government of India for the telecom sector.

Another source said that Foxconn and its affiliate Rising Stars Mobile have made a separate application to the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), which is managing the scheme.

An official said that there is interest from investors from all over the world in Telecom PLI. 29 investors including Foxconn, Nokia, JBIL Circuits have registered for PLI.

There is still about a week left on the last date of registration. In such a situation, more companies are expected to come forward for this.

Meanwhile, Reliance Jio has made this big announcement.

Reliance Jio will launch the world’s cheapest smartphone on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on September 10. It has been made in collaboration with Google under the name of JioPhone Next.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced the launch at the company’s 44th Annual General Meeting on Thursday.

The price of the phone has not been revealed yet. Ambani also announced the launch of Reliance’s 5G service first in India.

Ambani said that with the launch of this cheap smartphone, 300 million consumers currently using 2G network in the country will get an opportunity to shift to 4G and 5G.

Due to the cost of smartphones, these consumers are still on 2G. He said that Jio is not only working to make India 2G free, but it is also the company’s aim to make the country 5G enabled.

According to Reliance, the new smartphone will be equipped with features and apps from Jio and Google. Users will also be able to download apps from Google Play.
