Two CPI (M) Leaders Arrested In A Rape Case In Kerala

Two CPI (M) leaders arrested in a rape case in Kerala, also accused of criminal intimidation.

Two local leaders of the ruling CPI (M) in Kerala have been arrested for raping their fellow female comrade. The accused leaders have been identified as PP Baburaj and TP Lijesh.

Both are facing charges of rape, property encroachment, and criminal intimidation to the complainant. The victim woman is a member of CPI(M)’s Vadakkar branch committee.

Kozhikode Rural Superintendent of Police A. Srinivas said both the CPI(M) leaders were arrested from Karimbanpalem on Monday morning.

The local police said that they did not know the political background of both the accused.

Married and mother of two children, the victim has alleged that three months ago Baburaj entered her house and raped her.

After that, he sexually assaulted her several times. Every time she threatened to inform her husband and others about the matter.

The victim has said in her complaint that Lijesh also raped her thirteen times. She lodged her complaint with the police on Saturday after being upset by the harassment.

11 private sector professionals to work with Karnataka bureaucrats for the first time in 18 months.

According to officials, this is the first step of its kind.

The/Nudge Foundation and the Government of Karnataka said in a joint statement that applications from over 2,000 senior professionals were received from across the country through the Indian Administrative Fellowship (IAF) program.

Out of these 11 professionals have been selected. These professionals have an average of 24 years of experience in driving large-scale change in information technology (IT), finance, education, environment, and entrepreneurship.

Will work in collaboration with state officials

Nudge Foundation reported that these professionals selected as fellows have held leadership positions in some of the leading organizations and have studied at institutions such as Stanford, Harvard, IIM, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Each fellow will work with principal secretaries and secretaries in departments ranging from rural development and Panchayati raj to e-governance, as well as in the State Policy and Planning Commission and Administrative Reforms Commission-2.

According to the statement, the fellowship will start from July 1, which will include training at the Administrative Training Institute in Mysuru.
