Two light combat helicopters developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) have been deployed in the sky of Leh to further strengthen Indian Air Force operations in eastern Ladakh, adjoining China. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited  CMD R. Madhavan said on Wednesday that as soon as the need was stated by the Air Force, this deployment was made immediately in view of the latest situation on the border.

Explaining the role of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in self-sufficient India, he said that it is the world’s lightest war helicopter developed by HAL. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has designed it keeping in mind the special and specific needs of the Indian Air Force.

At the headquarters in Bengaluru, the company issued a statement that during the test, the helicopter had Air Force Deputy Chief Air Marshal Harjit Singh Arora with HAL’s test pilot wing commander (retired) Subhash P. John on an advance fronting exercise.

Has flown in high latitudes. For this, the helicopter was launched at the most inaccessible helipad of the area. Even under extremely low temperatures, this combat helicopter has justified its deployment requirement on the front fronts.
