Two Top Commanders Among Five Terrorists Killed In Kulgam

Two top commanders among five terrorists were killed in Kulgam: Jammu and Kashmir.

Two top commanders are also among the five terrorists killed in two encounters in South Kashmir’s Kulgam on Wednesday.

Among them, TRF Commander Afaq Sikandar was involved in the murder of non-local labor Shankar Kumar Choudhary in Kulgam.

Kashmir Range IGP Vijay Kumar said on Thursday that top terrorist and Hizbul Mujahideen district commander Shakir Nazar was active since 2018.

He has been killed along with two more terrorists in Pombai, Kulgam.

One of the two terrorists killed in the Gopalpora encounter in Kulgam on Wednesday has been identified as The Resistance Front (TRF) Commander Afaq Sikander.

In this matter, a police spokesman said that on getting information about the presence of terrorists in these villages of Kulgam.

Immediate action was taken and two counter-terrorist operations were launched. Five terrorists were killed in this operation.

During both operations, the terrorists were given ample opportunity to surrender, but they did not agree and were killed.

Afaq Sikander Lone resident of Shopian and Irfan Mushtaq Lone resident Avneera Shopian were killed in the Gopalpora encounter. An AK-47 rifle and a pistol have been recovered from them.

According to police records, Afaq Sikander was involved in several cases including atrocities on common people and attacks on security forces.

He had killed policeman Nisar Ahmed Wage on August 7 at Pambe crossing. After this, on September 17, Nehama was involved in the murder of non-local labor Shankar Kumar Choudhary in Kulgam.

He was also involved in grenade attacks on security forces including the attack on 188 battalions of CRPF in Nehama. He had also attacked SHO Manzgam, in which four police personnel were injured.

To fulfill the dream of the youth of Kashmir who aspires to become a doctor, the first batch of Army HPCL Super 50 has started a twelve-month course.

The first batch of Kashmir Super 50 comprises 20 girls. The army will prepare them for the competitive examinations for medical courses by giving them coaching for 12 months.

Along with providing coaching to the girls included in the first batch, facilities like the library, computer lab, restroom, etc. will also be provided. Hi-tech classes have been prepared for this.
