Two women Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces, explosive material recovered: Chhattisgarh.

Two women Naxalites were killed on Sunday in an encounter with the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected district Bijapur.

A senior official gave this information. Inspector-General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P said the encounter took place at around 6 am in a forest near Jabeli village under the Naid police station area when a joint team of various security forces was out on an anti-Naxal operation.

Acting on a tip-off, District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel launched an operation on Saturday night towards Jabeli, Durdha, and Mosla villages, located 450 km from state capital Raipur.

A 12 bore gun and explosives were recovered.

On Sunday morning, the patrolling team came face-to-face with a group of armed militants, following which an encounter broke out, the Inspector General of Police said.

After the firing stopped, bodies of two women Naxalites, a 12 bore gun, a 9 mm pistol, cardex wire, explosive material, and other Maoist-related items were recovered from the spot, he said.

He said that security forces have been sent to the area and the search operation is still on.

Six Naxalites were arrested yesterday.

Let us inform you that only yesterday, the police had caught six Naxalites from different places in Bijapur. Giving information, the police said that explosives were recovered from four of them.

They have been identified as Sonu Korla (35), Munna Hapka (37), Mangal Korsa (26) and Sonu Hapka (27), and Korsa Sannu (30), Additional Superintendent of Police Pankaj Shukla said.

Two and a half lakh cases of revenue pending in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister expressed displeasure on the officials.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has taken seriously the delay in resolving the revenue cases in the tehsils of the state. About two and a half lakh cases are pending for the revenue of the state.

The Chief Minister has expressed strong displeasure over this. He has been directed to take clarification from the concerned officer in each case if the matter is not resolved within the stipulated time limit.

He has also directed the Divisional Revenue Commissioner to inspect two tehsils or sub tehsils in a month.
