The UP govt has taken major action in the murder of the gangs in the district prison of Chitrakoot on Friday morning.

The negligence of jail officials and personnel have come to light in the murder of two prisoners in the jail and the killing of criminal Anshu Dixit in retaliatory firing by the police.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, five personnel including Chitrakoot Jail Superintendent SP Tripathi and jailer Mahendra Pal have been suspended.

DG Jail Anand Kumar has confirmed this. A new superintendent and jailor have also been posted in Chitrakoot District Prison. Ashok Kumar Sagar has been appointed as Jail Superintendent and CP Tripathi as Jailor.

The heinous incident in Chitrakoot Jail has revealed great negligence in security arrangements. Officials say that how the pistol reached the jail is not yet completely clear.

There will be a judicial inquiry into the incident, the process of which has been started. Chitrakoot police are registering an FIR in the incident.

Many facts will be completely clear in the police deliberations. Among the suspended personnel are the head warder of the jail and a PAC soldier posted in security arrangements.
