Amit Kaul – For Digital Desk, Bengaluru: January 9, 2026 –  The Indian Army lost one soldier and two local porters in two separate incidents in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. Jawan Heera Lal from Haryana died after slipping during night patrol duty in the Sheeri area and was declared dead at GMC Baramulla. In another incident, two Army porters slipped into a stream in Upper Gulmarg while heading to a forward post. Their bodies were recovered after an overnight search operation.
