US presence in Afghanistan ends, 2,461 soldiers lost in 20 years. The United States has ended its military operation in Afghanistan.

The last US military planes took off from Afghanistan on Tuesday morning. Five US C-17 cargo jets took off from Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport.

America also lost thousands of its soldiers during its 20-year long military campaign. Recently, 169 Afghan civilians, including 13 US soldiers, were killed in suicide bombings at Kabul airport.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that we lost 2,461 soldiers and tens of thousands were wounded in the war in Afghanistan.

We will work hard to protect our citizens from terrorist threats that may arise from anywhere in the world.

In a statement, the Secretary of Defense said the US has evacuated more than 1,23,000 people from war-torn Afghanistan, including 6,000 Americans and most Afghans, friends, and allies.

The war in Afghanistan was started by former President George Bush after the 9/11 terror attacks in America by Al Qaeda terrorists.

US presence in Afghanistan ends: The cost of the nearly two-decade-long war has been more than 2 lakh crores. During this, more than 170,000 people also died.

At the same time, the US has ended its diplomatic presence in Kabul, moving its operations to Doha. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he would use Doha to manage diplomacy from Afghanistan.

He said the US will continue to support humanitarian aid to the Afghan people. This will not happen through the government but through independent organizations like United Nations agencies, NGOs.

According to the New York Times, Taliban militants celebrate Afghanistan’s “complete independence” after American troops left.

The last US soldier has left Kabul airport and our country has gained full independence. With this, the control of the airport has come into the hands of the Taliban.
