Separate terrorist organization East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) of China’s Xinjiang province has been removed from the terrorist list by the US.

On this, China expressed strong resentment on Friday, saying that it has exposed the ‘double character’ of the US in the fight against global terrorism.

The organization was declared a terrorist organization in 2002 by the UN’s 1267 Anti-Terrorism Committee for its links with al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, and the Taliban.

China alleges that the organization, operating in the Uygar Muslim-majority Jinjiang province, is responsible for many violent attacks and killings within and outside the province.

In recent months, the US has strongly criticized China for misbehaving with Uygar Muslims.

Significantly, China has also alleged earlier that the terrorist organization East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) along with neighboring countries Turkey wants to increase the Islamic base along with the development of Ottoman civilization.

The first mosque was opened to the general public on Friday in the Greek capital of Athens after nearly 200 years.

This mosque has been constructed with government funds. Its construction was delayed due to red tape, cuts, and opposition from religious and political factions.

Athens has thousands of Muslims from Pakistan, Syria, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, but there was no mosque for them. After the fall of the Ottoman Empire about two hundred years ago, no mosque was built here.

Let us tell you that work started on the plan of building the mosque in Athens in 1890, but its construction was delayed due to the strong fanatic Christian population and opposition from the nationalists.

The color of the mosque is gray and shaped, and there is no dome in it. There is resentment among some Muslims about this.

Due to the Coronavirus restrictions, a limited number of worshipers attended the prayers wearing masks and following the distance from each other. A lockdown is being put in place until November 30 to prevent an increase in Coronavirus infections.

“This is a historic moment for the Muslim community living in Athens, we have been waiting for this mosque for so long,” said Heider Ashir, a member of the mosque’s governing council.
