Uzbekistan Deadly Protest: 18 people killed and 243 injured during violence in Uzbekistan, know what is the whole matter.

At the beginning of last week, 18 people were killed and 243 were injured during protests over constitutional reform in Uzbekistan.

The leading news channel reported that the protests began after the Uzbekistan government made constitutional changes affecting the situation in Karakalpakstan and posed a challenge to the regime of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Mirziyoyev on Saturday put an end to plans to amend articles of the constitution relating to Karakalpakstan’s autonomy and its right to secede.

A day after this decision, the protesters carried out fierce violence and tried to seize local government buildings.

Uzbekistan Deadly Protest: 516 people were taken into custody.

Abror Mamatov, an official in the state prosecutor’s office, was quoted by the media as saying: “There was a large-scale disturbance in Nuqas, the country’s administrative center.

During the violence, several people suffered serious injuries, resulting in the death of 18 people.

“Last Friday, 516 people were detained while dispersing protesters, but now many of them have been released,” the National Guard press office told a briefing.

On Saturday, the President declared a month-long state of emergency in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. According to the official order, there will be a state of emergency from July 3 to August 2.
