Vaccination of 18-44 age group in Maharashtra and Karnataka halted due to lack of corona vaccine.
Maharashtra and Karnataka have now stopped vaccinations for the age group 18-44 citing vaccine deficiency as the reason.
CM Uddhav Thackeray told a doctor of children and members of the task force team on Corona, through video conferencing in Mumbai, that vaccination of the 18-44 age group had to be stopped due to lack of vaccine supply.

At the same time, Karnataka has also stopped vaccination of this group.
It has been said by the state government that frontline workers, people of the at-risk group, and members of the primary group in this age group will be informed by the note officer of the next date and time of vaccination.
Gujarat will vaccinate eight lakh people in a week.
Unlike Maharashtra and Karnataka, Gujarat has started a week-long vaccination campaign from Monday, aiming to vaccinate eight lakh people in the 18-44 age group.
The Health Department has made arrangements to vaccinate one lakh people of this age group every day.
Congress raised questions on the lack of vaccines, Chidambaram said the need to give the number of vaccines daily.
Expressing concern over the slowing down of the vaccination campaign, which is considered to be the most important to halt the corona epidemic.
Congress has demanded the government to issue a daily bulletin regarding the vaccine stock. The party has said that due to the acute shortage of vaccines in many states including the capital Delhi.
The vaccination campaign of youth between 18 and 44 years has been stopped, which is contrary to the government’s claim of availability of vaccines in the country.
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has also targeted the government over vaccine management.
Congress leader former Finance Minister P Chidambaram tweeted that Telangana has also received bad news after the postponement of vaccination of people between 18 and 44 years due to lack of vaccines in Delhi.
No vaccine has been applied in 29 of the 33 districts of the state. The vaccine is not available in many states of the country including Telangana due to a lack of vaccines.
He said that in the current vaccination campaign, the statistics of the entire state hide many facts. That is why the Union Health Ministry should release daily data on the number of vaccinations in every district of the country.
Taking a dig at Health Minister Harsh Vardhan’s claim that there is no vaccine deficiency, Chidambaram said he should clarify the current facts in Delhi and Telangana.
