Vande Bharat Express Returned On Track After Repair

Vande Bharat Express returned to the track after repair, soon after the accident, now railways will fence the track.

The Vande Bharat Express from Mumbai Central to Gandhinagar was damaged after colliding with a herd of buffaloes near Vatva-Maninagar station on 6 October at 11:18 am.

The front part of the engine (nose cone cover) of this premium train was broken due to the collision.

However, a day after the accident, the Mumbai-Gandhinagar Vande Bharat Express has been repaired and is back on track.

Its next part has been fixed at the Coaching Care Center of Mumbai Central Railway.

Railway CPRO Sumit Thakur said on Friday that only the front part of the train was damaged, none of its functional parts were damaged.

Railway CPRO said that villagers are being advised not to leave their cattle near the track.

He further informed that Western Railway will work on increasing train speed to 160 kmph on the Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad section and fencing to avoid such incidents in the future.

Let us tell you that this accident happened due to the sudden arrival of 3-4 buffaloes on the railway track.

The train had left for Gandhinagar within 8 minutes of the accident and reached its scheduled time.

During repairs, the train was fitted with a new nose cone cover at the Mumbai Central depot and was put back into service without any additional downtime.

This is the third Vande Bharat train in the country, which was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30 September.

Earlier, two Vande Bharat Express trains were operating between New Delhi-Varanasi and New Delhi-Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

This train goes from Gandhinagar to Mumbai Central via Ahmedabad, then comes back to Gandhinagar via this route.

Railway Board is preparing to run 400 cm high-speed Vande Bharat trains across the country.

On August 15 last year, PM Modi announced from the Red Fort that 75 Vande Bharat Express trains would be operated in the country by 2023.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said in the past that the work in this direction is going on fast and will be done on time.

Vande Bharat Express is a train equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including GPS based information system, CCTV cameras, vacuum bio-toilet, automatic sliding doors, and 4 emergency push buttons in each coach.

These trains are manufactured in the Integrated Coach Factory of Indian Railways located in Chennai.

For its maintenance, special arrangements have been made at the terminus stations of the designated route. Railways plans to replace the currently running Shatabdi trains with Vande Bharat.
