Venus Remedies Wins Paracetamol Patent Dispute

Venus Remedies wins the Paracetamol patent dispute with the French company, the legal battle going on for 10 years.

Drug firm Venus Remedies has won the patent rights battle for the Paracetamol drug with French company SCR Pharmatop, which was going on for ten years.

The Indian pharmaceutical company had launched a legal battle to overcome the patent rights hurdle in manufacturing paracetamol solutions in the country.

The Indian Patent Office, in its June 4 decision, ruled in favor of the Indian pharmaceutical company and upheld its decision to withdraw the patent.

It is known that Venus Remedies had opposed the patent in the year 2011. After this, the patent was withdrawn in 2018.

However, SCR Pharmatop later moved to the Delhi High Court and the Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB).

The IT sector has created the largest number of skilled talent hires and has employed 1,38,000 people in FY21.

Nasscom emphasized that it has prepared a strong plan to recruit more than 96 thousand IT companies in the financial year 2021-22.
