Veteran all-rounder Richard Hadlee praised Team India, said – World cricket needs India, has kept Test cricket is alive.

Former New Zealand veteran all-rounder Richard Hadley said that cricket needs India, as it generates a lot of revenue and has made great strides in Test cricket, keeping the longest format of the game alive.

Without India, world cricket would have been very different, so cricket needs India. Headley counts with great all-rounders in the 1970s and 1980s along with Imran Khan, Kapil Dev, and Ian Botham.

He said, ‘India has made an outstanding contribution to Test cricket like other formats. His performance in Australia was excellent. He made a brilliant comeback after being all out for 36, and Test cricket was revived.

There were so many youngsters in the team and they performed brilliantly. It showed the depth of talented players in all formats of India.

Talking to the Times of India, the 69-year-old Hadley said that neither New Zealand nor the Indian side will be heavy before the start of the match when the World Test Championship final will be played at a neutral venue.

He said, ‘Yes, this is the final match of the Test Championship, but I don’t think any team will be very upset about it. This match is to be on neutral ground. Due to which nobody is going to get any domestic benefit. it’s worth seeing.’

Hadley said that it would be important to adapt to the conditions and the match is being played in England, so swing bowlers will help and if the bowlers get some help, batting will be a bit difficult.

He said that now it will be seen which team gets on the field with better preparation and gets better in England conditions.

Hadley further said that weather could also play an important role and if it were cold, it would benefit New Zealand. The Duke ball will benefit the fast bowlers of both teams. Especially swing bowlers.

The Kiwi team has Southey, Bolt, and Jamieson. If the ball swings, it will be a challenge for the batsmen of both teams.
