Village Defense Committees To Be Reconstituted Soon

Village Defense Committees are to be reconstituted soon to eradicate terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, this will be the new name of VDC.

Preparation to further strengthen the Village Defense Committees to eliminate terrorism in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

After meeting Home Minister Amit Shah, State BJP General Secretary Sunil Sharma said that the Home Ministry has made preparations to issue orders in this regard.

Now soon the VDC will be reconstituted and renamed as Village Defense Group. BDG members will also get an honorarium.

On Tuesday, a delegation of the State Bharatiya Janata Party met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi.

The delegation raised the issue of paying salaries through direct bank transfer to the members of Village Defense Committees and Dhok Defense Committees who are protecting remote areas in the state.

On the instructions of the state president Ravindra Raina, the delegation, which met Amit Shah in Delhi, was presided over by former minister and state general secretary of BJP Sunil Sharma.

During this meeting was held in Delhi, the Union Home Minister was informed about the contribution of Village Defense Committees and Dhok Defense Committees in ensuring security in remote areas.

Home Minister, instructed the officials of the ministry that they should take action in the direction of resolving the problems by making proposals in this direction.

Home Minister took the information about the difficulties being faced by the VDC and DDC members in the districts like Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Udhampur, Thathri, Kathua.

Thakur Basant Raj, Narendra Kotwal, Mohanlal, Ratanchand, Suresh Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Chunilal, Suresh Kumar, Amarchand, Joginder Kumar were other members of the delegation in this meeting.

The Kashmir House is headed by Dr. Mubeen Shah, former Chairman of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
