VR Choudhary said – preparations are better in eastern Ladakh, Army Chief Naravane said – situation on the border stable.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary said on Thursday that a large number of Air Force personnel had to adapt themselves to the situation in eastern Ladakh last year.
Along with this, the equipment had to be used beyond its capacity. The preparedness of the force is much better if the conditions remain like this for a long time.
On the other hand, Army Chief MM Naravane said that the situation on the eastern Ladakh border is more stable.
On the other hand, CDS General Bipin Rawat said that getting an advanced surveillance system is the top priority.
Equipment had to be used beyond capacity.
Speaking at a defense conference, the Air Force Chief said that after the challenges faced by the harsh conditions of the region in the last year, we realized where we have lagged behind.
We were not very familiar with the conditions that prevailed in Eastern Ladakh last year. Especially in the kind of environment in which we needed to run the campaign.
For this, a large number of soldiers had to adapt themselves to the conditions in a very short time. Equipment had to be overused.
Strong preparations.
The Air Force Chief said that we brought the equipment to the heights. Even above the heights, we tested before achieving them.
Following the escalation of tension in eastern Ladakh in mid-June last year.
Air Force deployed almost all its frontline fighters and combat helicopters such as Sukhoi 30 MKI, Jaguar, and Mirage 2000 aircraft in eastern Ladakh and other places along the Line of Actual Control.
Don’t expect favorable results in every round.
Army Chief General MM Naravane on Thursday said India should not expect a favorable outcome in every round of talks with China to resolve border issues.
There were four or five points of confrontation on the border. We have solved all except one. I am sure we will be able to address these issues as we move forward in a few more rounds of talks.
The army chief said the situation along the eastern Ladakh border with China is now better and more stable than it was almost a year ago.
Priority to achieving an advanced monitoring system.
Chief of Defense Staff Bipin Rawat on Thursday said that getting an advanced surveillance system is currently the top priority of the armed forces.
In a defense conference, he said that this will help the country to monitor terrestrial borders and seas. Our first and top priority is surveillance.
We need a system that can help us monitor terrestrial boundaries and oceans. Also, we want to move cyber capability from low priority to high priority.
