WI tour of NZ: Dwayne Bravo injured out of New Zealand tour, Romario Shepherd got a place. West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out of the New Zealand tour due to injury.

He will be replaced by Romario Shepherd in the T20 squad. Bravo is struggling with a groin injury. The 37-year-old all-rounder was injured on 17 October while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020).

Bravo said in an official statement that I was really looking forward to the New Zealand tour because the last time I played for West Indies was in Sri Lanka in March. We are excited about our T20 World Cup next year.

Unfortunately, the injury I suffered while playing for CSK on Saturday not only ruled me out of the IPL but also from the tour.

I am making arrangements to return to Trinidad in the next few days. I am fully committed to representing the West Indies.

Shepherd, who joined Bravo in place of Bravo, made his international debut against Afghanistan last year. He got the cap from Bravo. The 25-year-old all-rounder has played five One-Day Internationals and two T20 Internationals so far.

Shepherd said this is a great opportunity for me, and I want to capitalize on it. I was on the team this year and last year.

So I have a good game experience at this level. I am working hard and working in all areas of the game. That’s why I’m ready.
